a marathon week
Well, this has been (is) my first week back at work properly and I must say combining full day court hearings with breast pumps at lunch and marathon training in the evening is proving tricky. Haven’t had time to run in the evenings so far, but managed almost 4 miles this evening. The plus points: made 26 [...]
McKenzie Friends
Just as I was pondering what I might blog about this weekend an email arrived in my inbox about an article I once wrote on McKenzie Friends. The email contained some information concerning the alleged actions of a representative of a father’s rights group who had been acting as a McKenzie friend in children proceedings. It was [...]
jogging along
well, a trial in London put paid to any training this week…On my return I managed a pathetic 2 1/2 miles but yesterday managed to make it to 4 miles (albeit with a LOT of stopping). It’s progress but not as much as I’d like. Too knackered today to do much, maybe a swim later…
Another take on family court openness
My Dad told me about this story in The Telegraph, where a millionaire divorcee fed up with inaccurate gossip about his allegedly stingy divorce settlement decided to set the record straight. Fair enough Mr Dean, I see where you’re coming from (Hope he feels better now he’s got that off his chest…).
now just do that again three more times….
ok – made it round a 3 1/2 mile quite hilly loop last night, although not without a few walking breaks. 42 mins…I wasn’t on best form and when I got back I looked like my head was going to explode BUT its the furthest I’ve gone so far, the longest time I’ve been out [...]
Training Continues
Body Balance last night instead of pilates – hokey but knackering. Today repeated the 3 mile run but managed to complete the first 20 mins with no stops at all, which is a major achievement (thanks to Ollie who kicked me up the last hill). Hopefully on our next run we will increase the distance. . [...]
wowzer
Just back from a 3 mile run. I feel great. Very pleased to have achieved that – now I only have to work up another 10 miles on that achievement to make it round the course!…I also now know I run better after eating – went out at 9.30pm tonight (very peaceful) a couple of [...]
President’s Article
The Times is running a campaign for greater openness in the family justice system, which in many respects I support. The series of articles by Camilla Cavendish running this past week certainly make interesting reading. . In response comes Sir Mark Potter’s recent article in The Times - it makes a lot of sense to me – [...]
who’s the mommy?
Just found this post which I began to draft some months ago having read something or other in the Times. No longer have the original article or any recollection of what I was on about, but the blog post looks interesting (if I do say so myself) so I guess I’ll post it anyway, in its [...]
going great guns
FEELING GOOD!! tuesday - jog around poet’s walk and one lap salthouse fields 25mins plus one hour dog walk, wednesday – pilates, thursday – jog around poet’s walk and TWO laps salthouse fields 25 mins…swimming tomorrow! Maybe I should also reduce my intake of chocolate muffins? post script – what a brilliant gadget. I knew this would be [...]
