A BLOG FROM THE FAMILY BAR

Remind me again why I signed up for this?

The day of reckoning is drawing near. In about four weeks I will be running (or possibly walking, then crawling) the Bristol Half Marathon, all in the name of fundraising for The Transparency Project.

Today my training plan told me I needed to run 11 miles. Last week I ran 10 and nearly broke myself, however I knew that if I didn’t push ahead now I would most likely just not make race distance on the day. So I did manage it. And man am I paying for it now. My knees are shot and my hip injury is back. But I AM GOING TO FINISH THIS BLOODY RACE.

And YOU, dear Reader, are going to sponsor me. Aren’t you? *menacing face*

No pressure. But naturally when I’m Queen I shall order those of you who did not make a suitable donation to be beheaded.

Seriously, it will do a lot for my fragile motivation if you do, and of course will provide vital funds for The Transparency Project to continue doing its transparencying. If you can sponsor please do. If not, go and have a laugh at my expense anyway.

The link to sponsor me is here, complete with obligatory awful photos of slightly tubby runner.
