Interesting piece in The Guardian about an analysis of publicly available stats looking at the proportion of DV perpetrated against men: in soundbite form around 40% of dv is perpetrated against men.

It really was a loooong month, wasn't it? Death, storms, and the general dank gloom that comes with this time of year....
as i commented at family lore, while not wishing the deny the existence or importance of dv against men, i simply do not believe these figures. no evidence, but come on – does that sound right to you? for instance 1 in 4 women have been raped (according to some estimates) and many rapes take place within relationships. i don’t see how the numbers can work at all.
